GOOSE (DOMESTIC)

Goose (Domestic)Fun Facts:

I’m really NOT a silly goose – well, not compared to those Indian Runner ducks. We domestic geese are anything but silly when it comes to protecting our territory. We are fiercely protective. (Don’t I look it? OK, I don’t). We’ll chase intruders (human or other) away, and we’ll even give them a good bite when if we feel it’s necessary. Geese were once common protectors of homes. Even now, some people prefer to have “watch geese” instead of “watch dogs.”

• A group of geese is usually called a gaggle. But when is a group of geese not called a gaggle? When it’s in the air. Then it’s called a skein! Hey, what silly goose came up with that vocabulary?
