 Fun Facts:• We pigs are very smart. We’re considered the fourth-most intelligent animal. (I may be smart, but no one ever told me what the other three are.) We’re definitely considered to be smarter than dogs. (Sorry Joe.) Abraham Lincoln is credited with saying “A pig won’t believe anything he can’t see.” Smart man, that president. • There are 180 species of pigs throughout the world. We’re found on every continent except Antarctica. (I told you pigs are smart. What pig would want to live there?) • Humans seem to like to draw pigs as pink, but we come in all kinds of colors, including black, red (like me), gray, and brown. Our skin is usually pink, though. • Full-grown pigs in nature weigh as little as 13 pounds and as much as 250 pounds. But domestic pigs can reach as much as 2,500 pounds! That’s as much as your car weighs! |
