 Fun Facts:• What’s so funny? What – I am? Just because I’m like a bowling pin on feet? Some people have much more poetic descriptions of us Runner ducks, like, well, like a wine bottle with feet. Actually, I prefer the one Dutch explorers a couple of centuries ago used. They called us Penguin-Ducks. That fits the bill, as they say. • Runner ducks don’t waddle like most ducks. We just walk. Actually, we rarely walk – we run. It looks like we’re always in a hurry, going somewhere terribly important. Sometimes we are. Most of the time we’re not. • We are very good at egg-laying. People who keep us say we can outproduce any chicken. (I’ve lain as many as 300 in one year.) |
