ANGORA GOAT

Angora GoatFun Facts:

• Our gorgeous fleece isn’t really wool. It’s mohair.
Mohair is strong like wool, but much smoother. It has such a luxurious texture that for thousands of years it’s been used in the some of the world’s finest cloths and upholsteries. It’s even used as the fur on top-quality teddy bears!

• My friend Mae (the one who was crazy about Harry the singing sheep on the video) is also an Angora goat. Like most female goats (known as does or nannies), her horns are shorter and straighter than males (known as bucks or billies).

Goats can eat trees and other things humans can’t, but we really don’t eat tin cans. We just like to explore things with our mouths. If an empty can happens to cross our path, we may pick it up and look like we’re chomping on it. Of course, if there's something tasty on the inside, a few licks don’t hurt…
